Why herbalism? The true economy of herbalism is the art of gathering the long body of folklore regarding the indigenous plants of each region and the way wise women used them combined with the current codification of medicinally active molecules assigned to illnesses and health issues. What drives herbalism is ecology and the way humankind is connected to these plants and their medicinal benefits.
Small batch medicine, managing weight loss, ADD/ADHD, PTSD, stress recovery, female and male hormonal rebalancing, respiratory problems, migraines, recovery from drug and alcohol addition, chemical poisoning, eating disorders, preparation for pregnancy, colon cleansing, arthritis, allergies redefined, and more. Plant and biological-based practices decoded, analyzed, differentiated, and presented. I teach people to heal their bodies from their health issues through the everyday use of medicinal herbs. Your place to heal begins here.
My Book
A Wild Thyme in the City is a guide to mothercrafting your herbal medicine. Mothercrafting your herbs means you are buying, cooking, gathering, organizing, grinding, blending, encapsulating, brewing, tincturing, infusing, decocting, chopping, baking, roasting, sauteing, and mastering the wise woman’s use of medical vegetables, medicinal herbs. It is about how to use herbs in the foods and lifestyle you have today, especially for city folks, to help heal your body. The book explains how to shop in a health food store and how to apply healing and edible plants’ attributes to the various health issues modern folks face today. Making complementary medicine accessible.
Consultation
The first question in this holistic health consultation evaluation is: What are the health issues you want to discuss today? “A broken leg” or “poison ivy” are quite quantifiable; many modern health issues are not.
A constant cough, traumatic stress, OCD, ADD/ADHD, compromised digestive tract, “needing energy,” chronic constipation, irregular aches and pain, menstrual bloating and mood agonies, sinus problems, stubborn insomnia, somatic trauma unreleased, flying across the ocean or driving 1,000 miles per week for a job, or even a “layered, metallic taste in the morning” are just a few of the presenting issues people come for. While these health issues are not listed in Taber’s Medical Dictionary, they are disrupting someone’s life. These effects can be handled.
